Ivor van Dartel designed his first electric aircraft when still an Aerospace Engineering student at TU Delft, with a group of 10 students, back in 2007. After finishing his MSc final thesis project within Lockheed Martin on the F-35 electrical system, Ivor joined Airbus to work on several positions in engineering, operations, manufacturing, program management and research & technology. He was project leader for the Hybrid Electric Propulsion System of the E-Fan X Hybrid Electric Demonstrator.
  Late 2021, Ivor and his co-founder Dr. Sebastian Seemann founded VÆRIDION to ensure a green revolution in aviation within this decade with battery-electric aircraft. The concept is based on two main proprietary innovations: the highest possible integration between wing and battery modules, as well as a fully redundant and segregated multi-engine, single propeller propulsion system. The VÆRIDION Microliner will enable true zero emission regional flights before 2030, allowing to accomplish climate goals without limiting air traffic. VÆRIDION is also an active member of European Regions Airline Association (ERA).
